Editorial & Medical Review Policy
Our Commitment
Protocol's blog and educational content aim to provide accurate, evidence-based health information accessible to non-specialists. We write for people who want to understand their health, not for search engines, not for engagement metrics.
Medical Review Process
All health-related content is reviewed by a licensed physician on Protocol's medical team. Dr. Ajay Haryani, MD serves as Medical Advisor and primary medical reviewer. Content does not publish until physician review is complete.
Review Standards
Claims are verified against peer-reviewed research, clinical guidelines (AHA, USPSTF, EWGSOP2), and Protocol's own clinical outcomes data. When evidence is limited or uncertain, we say so. We do not overstate findings or present preliminary research as settled science.
Update Policy
Content is reviewed annually for accuracy. When clinical guidelines change, affected articles are updated and re-reviewed. The "last reviewed" date on each article reflects the most recent clinical review.
Sources & Citations
We cite peer-reviewed journals, clinical guidelines, and institutional sources. References are listed at the bottom of each article when applicable. We favor primary sources over media coverage of research.
Corrections
If you identify an error in our content, contact info@protocol.us. We investigate promptly and publish corrections with a note explaining what changed and when.
What We Don't Do
We do not accept sponsored content, paid placements, or affiliate commissions. Our content serves our members and prospective members, not advertisers. No third party has editorial influence over what we publish.
